At the Written ("B") examination candidates can use the (monolingual) Magyar értelmező kéziszótár.
Candidates pass the examination with a min. 60% performance in each part.
The Oral ("A") and the Written ("B") examination can be passed separately.

From the Regulations

  • less than 8 days before the time of the examination: 0 %
  • more than 8 days before the time of the examination: 25 %
  • more than 4 weeks before the time of the examination: 75 %
  • Money is refunded by bank transfer or giro. In the case of giro the expense involved is deducted from the sum refunded.
  • You cannot require refund if you do not come to the examination without formal notification of cancelling or postponement.
  • Candidates must re-apply for a postponed examination in the following examination term and pay an extra fee of HUF 1000.- ·Grounds for appeal do not exist in case of evaluation. The Examiners’ decision is final. However, in cases of alleged miscalculation or violation of legal regulations, the candidate retains right of appeal.

Candidates should be at least 14 years old. Fill in the application form. Pay the fee at a post office. Stick the cheque receipt on the back of the application form.

    Attachments to the application form:
  • an LC/6 envelope stamped and addressed to the candidate
  • a B/5 envelope stamped with HUF 190 and addressed to the candidate
  • a (pink) form of receipt filled in by the candidate with his own address on its back.
  • You can learn about the results of your oral and written examinations, announced by your personal code on the home page (www.bme.hu), or on the notice board of the Examination Centre (Bd. "E"), on the 21st day after the examination, from 5 p.m. ·Please do not telephone or come in person for your results.
  • Certificates will be mailed to successful candidates in the 7th week after the last examination of the term.
